The book Time Witnessing, sub-titled The Truth Behind Moral Values Inspired by God’s Word, and How Long You Will Spend in Heaven or Hell, published by WestBow Press a division of Thomas Nelson Publishers, is the first book by blind author Kevin Turnbaugh. The book begins with a introduction to the author and his background. In the next section, Kevin addresses in detail several of the current threats to our freedoms in the United States from organizations like the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and the Americans United for the Separation of Church and State (AUSCS). In these chapters he addresses the threats on our freedom of speech and expression, assembly, and religion. Specifically, he shows how these threats are being directed against Christians, yet not against other religions in our country. He ends this section with a history lesson on how a law in the past was removed, and how our freedoms could be affected in the same way, by the reversing of the freedom by a Constitutional Amendment.
In the next section, Kevin expands on these threats to show how they are effecting the very moral fabric of our nation today. The affect on our children from the Gay and Lesbian community, a look back at the television shows of yesterday and how they have regressed into the sex filled, language polluted, and moral degrading shows of today. How the family unit has changed over the years to the dysfunctional components of the parents, children, and as a whole. Finally, he addresses the how and why families should act, how to prevent problems, and pointing out that a Christ centered family can and will be much more healthy for all when facing the threats from the world today.
The remaining sections and chapters look in detail about the coming judgments of God. First, Kevin looks at Heaven and Hell, provides details about both that give the reader a understanding of how things will and will not be in these real places. He gives you a literal way to experience Hell (if you choose to participate), and explains that Hell is a living death. Then the reason for the main title of this book will become clear to you the reader.
The next few chapters give you the reader a specific understanding how just how long eternity will really be, without just saying the word forever. Kevin actually explains and shows you how to understand this endless period by applying “Time” to the equation. How long the rapture of the Christians will take, by explaining the statement in the Bible verses in 1 Corinthians 15:50-54, what the words flash and twinkling really mean in “Time”. Then following the chapters on the 7 year period the Bible calls the Tribulation and Great Tribulation, Kevin gives you a mathematics lesson how long eternity is using 1 square mile of Kansas land, a sparrow, and a fictional story. You will need your calculators for this part of the book.
Finally, Kevin makes it clear why you the reader must be ready for this coming period. First, we do not know when it will occur, even though we have some hints in the Bible. Secondly, the fact that no one person is too much the sinner, and hopelessly incapable of being saved from their sins. Then lastly, Kevin asks you to make that sincere decision about your future, and makes it very personal why a decision making Jesus Christ your Savior will be an eternal decision on your part. The decision? Reject Jesus and spend eternity in Hell, accept Him and live with Him in Heaven for eternity.
